Can’t ChatGPT or other AI just prepare me for interviews?
It’s a smart, modern question. Tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or others can with their limitations help you draft STAR stories, generate common interview questions, or brainstorm possible answers. Many of our clients use them to prepare first drafts, or polish their answers after our feedback is provided.
But here’s the key difference:
- AI can’t watch your body language, posture, gestures, notice when your eyes dart or shoulders slump.
- AI doesn’t press with tough, targeted follow-up questions that test depth or resilience.
- AI can’t track your delivery habits, filler words, nervous laughs, pacing that often make or break an interview.
- Whilst AI might be used to screen CVs you will be interviewed and eventually work with humans. After few months, your conversations to prepare for the performance reviews or get a bonus or a promotion will happen with a human. It’s better you prepare with a human.
